What is covered by a preventive plan?
Preventive plans are designed to cover essential preventive services at 100%.
This includes things like annual checkups, immunizations, screenings, and routine lab work. These plans help employees stay healthy by catching potential health issues early—with no out-of-pocket costs for covered preventive care.
What is preventive MEC?
A Preventive MEC health plan meets ACA requirements for minimum essential coverage (otherwise known as MEC).
MEC plans must cover preventive care as outlined by the ACA. Preventive MEC plans designed by Planstin include some innovative features such as fair-priced healthcare and complimentary care coordination.
Is patient advocacy included?
Preventive health plans include complimentary access to care coordination services to help members make appointments and locate providers that work well with their benefits.
How do prescriptions work?
Each preventive health plan includes prescription access through PlanstinRx.
PlanstinRx helps members access affordable medications—including costly specialty drugs. Depending on the plan (HSA, Core, or Copay) some prescriptions are available for as low as $0, with many routine generic prescriptions costing no more than $15.
After filling their first prescription locally, members must switch to convenient mail-order delivery through the PlanstinRx portal for future refills.
Are emergency visits covered?
Preventive MEC plans do not cover ER visits.
For a more comprehensive solution, many members with a Preventive health plan may become Zion HealthShare members. A Zion HealthShare membership is designed for larger, unexpected medical needs like trips to the emergency room.
